The Native 5 is one of Spyderco’s most revered folding knife designs. Throughout its evolution, it and its predecessors have also been proud symbols of the excellence of our US manufacturing efforts. It is therefore the ideal home for a blade crafted from our proprietary US-made steel—CPM® SPY27®. Developed exclusively for Spyderco by Crucible® Industries, SPY27 is enriched with chromium, niobium, vanadium, and its signature element, cobalt, to offer a remarkable balance of toughness, edge retention, and corrosion resistance. The blade of this knife capitalizes on all these properties, showcasing them in a linerless handle featuring peel-ply-textured G-10 scales in cobalt blue— one of the signature colors of our SPY27 family of knives. To support all carry options, it also includes a polished four-position pocket clip.
